About The Business Hall of Fame
Every May since 2001 the Chamber of Commerce has paused to recognize and honor some of Erie County’s most extraordinary sons and daughters. Individuals who have left their mark on the world. During those two decades one-hundred and thirty-one (131) persons from all walks of life – business executives, attorneys, artists, physicians, scientists, community volunteers, educators, journalists, athletes, engineers, government leaders, researchers, entertainers, philanthropists, military personnel and others – have been honored. Each one having a unique story as well as a corresponding set of accomplishments.
If you are unaware of this Chamber program, let me give you some background. The program is called the Business Hall of Fame and it was started in 2001. Its purpose is: to honor the contributions Erie Countians have made to society; to provide positive role models for current and future generations; and to promote our region by showcasing the contributions recipients have made to our area, region, state, nation and the world. It has become a popular Chamber program annually attracting approximately one-hundred and fifty (150) guests who attend to applaud the recipients’ ‘life’s work’ and take pride in his/her accomplishments.
It is a selective group, but if you know someone who might be deserving of this honor please take some time to secure a nomination form, complete the requested information and then return it to the Chamber’s Office.
